Ambassador Leslie M. Alexander

From the 1st of June 2008, Ambassador Alexander has accepted the role of Advisor to the Board within the PRIME ADVISORY GROUP. His expertise and knowledge of the South American market is a valuable asset which will support the future strategic developments of the PRIME ADVISORY GROUP.

Before becoming an international consultant, Mr. Alexander was a career U.S. diplomat for almost 30 years. His last posting was as Special Envoy to Haiti in 2000. Previously he was Ambassador to Ecuador and before that Ambassador to Mauritius and Ambassador to the Comoros. He was Deputy Chief of Mission and then Charge d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Haiti from 1991 to 1993 after serving as Deputy Director for Caribbean Affairs at the Department of State in Washington.

From 1986 to 1989 he was Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Rome. Earlier assignments include Principal Officer at Porto Alegre, Brazil; Economic Officer at the Embassy in Madrid; Program Officer for Mexico at the State Department; Consul in Krakow, Poland; Vice Consul and Economic Officer in Norway and Vice Consul in Guyana.

Ambassador Alexander holds an M.S. in Management and an M.A. in International Security Affairs. He was born in Germany and is proficient in many languages, including English, Portuguese, Italian, French and Spanish.
